This painting looks nothing like how it started, a wide, warm green horizontal band of paint, over a teal background. That band easily disappeared as more paint was liberally added, mixed, scraped and dripped. The darker areas form a triangular effect. It reminds of a clearing storm, when you know more darkness is coming, but you eternally hope for the light, too. This is one of my favorites. Sometimes the work is like play. This one makes the statement so true.
