I love combining stitching and painting. Working with fellow artists, Alison Corteen and Sara Webster on other stitched-collaborative pieces, I got the idea to try stitching only he center of some painted and cut out flowers to the prepared green background canvas. The idea to let the petals flop over came from my mother’s wedding gown – cut flowers, center-stitched, on white organdy fabric.
