Description
Some of my paintings begin as small studies, approximately 5 inches square. This would make a stunning addition to a dolls house! It was an experiment in mixing paint right on the canvas, and to paint the lines first, then the background. The lines were initially a charcoal grey. The color fields are composed of layer upon layer of color, mixing and scraping over the canvas. I love the depth and how color peeks out here and there, like the lime green under the yellow-gold; or the deep blue-purple in the hot pink. I really wanted to be “done” with this painting, but asked for a critique – that’s when the lines transformed to multi-colored, mixed, thick, ropey intersections and made the painting not only complete, but much better. I love the result.
